The journey begins! Above the Design Lines van takes the barge over to Bald Head Island, the day before the install. Logistics for this install had to be perfect because we were depending on barge schedules to and from the island. Plus the only way we could get around on the island was by a golf cart.
Thank goodness we were able to get our van on the island for the delivery.
This breathtaking beach house was custom built by Chris Lokey of Lokey Building Concepts. Over a year ago, Chris, Judy and the clients began meeting on this project going through the building plans looking at every interior and exterior detail, and specifying specific materials. The most unique thing about the house, is there is absolutely no Sheetrock. Every ceiling, wall, and flooring is wood.
Above an early morning view of the house.
Pictured (left) a view of the marsh and river from the 3rd floor screened in porch, while on the (right) beautiful casted shadows of the exterior detailing.
More scenic views and a detailed shot of the shutters and roof.
Pictured (left) a craftsman style cottage front door. The color is so rich! Right outside the bunk rooms there are plenty of hooks for jackets, towels or those wet swim suits after a long day at the beach.
Brittany and Judy preparing for the arrival of all the furniture. They are actually looking at the floor plans. On the (left) Lewis steams the music room window treatments.
Above, the marsh side guest bath with a washed cerused cabinetry.
A vignette of the marsh side guest bedroom.
Shades of cobalt blue, creams and wood give this room an extremely cozy feel.
Above the 3rd floor guest bath….a pebbled shower floor and lots of natural light. My favorite detail is the wood framing around the window.
The 3rd floor guest bedroom (left) creates a peaceful retreat, while the master sitting area (right) is surrounded by natural butternut wood walls.
Below the furniture delivery plan complete with pictures compliments of Ashley.
Above our client and Judy take a 30 second break. Literally after I took this picture they jumped right back up!
Family dining seats 8 comfortably. The bird chandelier and fish on the back of the chairs compliments our client’s love for nature.
Below the main living space on the 3rd floor.
Our client finally has a space for her grand piano.
And you thought moving a piano was hard enough….try 3 stories with a forklift and 4 guys!
Placement is key… heavy felt bottom pads make adjusting the piano easy.
There will be more pictures to come in the coming months, so stay tuned!
