Those out dated kitchen appliances must go! It is time to remodel and we have come to the rescue. If you are thinking about remodeling any area in your house, we recommend that you watch this video for the complete “Design Lines Remodeling Checklist” from Judy.  

Here are Judy’s takeaways.

1. Decide on scope of the project. Take into account the function & use of the space, storage needs, universal design features, green design, lighting, etc.

 
2. Decide on whether you will live in the space while the renovation is going on or do you need to set up temporary food prep.

 
3. Consider hiring professionals – builder, interior designer and architect. Get references.

 
4. Do your research to manage expectations.

 
5. After deciding on a contractor, give him as much information as possible for accurate quote.

The 7 Takeaways On Finding the Right Picture Frame

1. Have a frame swap with friends.
2. Create an artful wall/grid using black and white photographs.
3. Leaning/propping up frames on a mantel or shelf is fun to do.
4. You can use black and white pictures but spice up the grouping with colored frames.
5. Don’t be afraid to use small and big frame sizes together.
6. Display frames by groupings.
7. Not only group the frames but group the subject matter to make more of an impact.

Paige Crawford, one of the hosts from the local hit television show, My Carolina Today was in the studio last week filming two segments. Caught in action Judy (above- left) talks to Paige (above-right) about finding the right picture frame and her recommendations on how to make a room come alive with frames.

The other segment will focus on the Design Lines Remodeling Checklist. If you are thinking about remodeling you must watch this segment. According to the National Association of the Remodeling Industry the top priority right now in homes is functionality. We will give you our Top 5 Remodeling Tips which include, decide on whether you will live in the space while the renovation is going on or do you need to set up temporary food prep.

For Design Lines’ second segment on My Carolina Today TV , Judy focuses on the differences between three unique styles – casual, classic and urban and how you can define your style by the pieces you use. Pieces can range from larger furniture to smaller accessories. Tune in Friday at 11:00am on channel NBC 17  to watch Judy. SET those DVR’s for June 3rd at 11:00am on Channel 6 (NBC 17) to see Design Lines on My Carolina Today.

The focus of this first segment is to give the viewer tips on how they can change the whole feel of a room by changing the art, lamps and pillows. We felt like quick change artists as we showed 4 separate vignettes using the same sofa and chest. We show the viewer that they do not have to change the investments pieces like upholstery and case goods to get a new look .

Design Lines & NBC 17

What a fun afternoon!! Above Judy and Sharon Delaney from NBC 17  talk about when trying to pinpoint your style your  jewelry can tell a personal story for the second segment. This is all a part of a 13 part series with the local television show — My Carolina Today.

The focus of this first segment is to give the viewer tips on how they can change the whole feel of a room by changing the art, lamps and pillows. We felt like quick change artists as we showed 4 separate vignettes using the same sofa and chest. We show the viewer that they do not have to change the investments pieces like upholstery and case goods to get a new look .

When determining what accessories to use Judy explains it all starts with the things you love that tell your story, whether a hand made needle point pillow from your grandmother or the tree of life picture you bought on your travels to Egypt. From there find a consistent thread as you explore the things to combine together.
